ITIL 5 Foundation is the entry point for all learners. It introduces the shared language, core concepts, and unified lifecycle for managing digital products and services. This course establishes a foundational understanding of value creation, collaboration, governance, and continual improvement. By attending this course it will prepare you for the examination leading to the ITIL® 5 Foundation Certificate from PeopleCert.

ITIL 5 Foundation introduces candidates to:

• Understand the core concepts of digital product and service management.
• Understand how value is co-created through collaboration between service providers, consumers and stakeholders, while weighing outcomes, costs, risks, experience and sustainability.
• Understand the four dimensions of product and service management.
• Understand the ITIL Value System and how it brings together the Guiding Principles, Governance, Value Chain activities, Management practices and Continual Improvement.
• Learn how to apply the ITIL Guiding Principles to make better decisions, collaborate more effectively, and adapt ITIL practices to real-world digital environments.
• Understand the product and service lifecycle and value chain activities.
• Understand ITIL Management practices.
• Learn how continual improvement is embedded within ITIL, and supports long-term organisational success.
• Value stream mapping and management, understand how to identify, map and manage value streams to improve flow, visibility and outcomes across digital products and services.

The target group of the ITIL® Foundation certificate in IT Service Management is:

• Individuals who require a basic understanding of the ITIL® framework and how it may be used to enhance the quality of IT service management within an organisation.
• IT professionals that are working within an organisation that has adopted and adaptedITIL® who need to be informed about and thereafter contribute to an ongoing service improvement programme.
• Anyone who is looking to upgrade their ITIL v3 certification and knowledge.

This may include but is not limited to, IT professionals, business managers and business process owners.

There are no formal criteria or pre-requisites for candidates wishing to attend this course, though some familiarity with IT terminology and an appreciation of their own business environment is strongly recommended.
