PRINCE2® should not be applied in a dogmatic form, but tailored to specific projects. Formal reports and project documents may be replaced by informal verbal or email equivalents, the structure of the project board and management team may be altered to reflect the goals of the project, multiple roles may be assigned to individuals on smaller projects, and increased emphasis may be placed on stage replanning for research-intensive projects which may need to change directions as new findings are delivered.
